Rate Query Clean-Up

When your staff accesses the Rate Query screen, does it look like a confusing mess of rates codes?  Do they get frustrated trying to find the one they want, and instead click on any available rate?  Clean it up! 

Did you know: when rates are sent down from InnLink, they are sent in a way so you can view them on the Rate Query screen, even if the rate should only be bookable online? 

HIDE THEM!  There is a quick and easy way to hide these rates, and any negotiated rates you may have, from view.  This helps eliminate the mess will hopefully get your staff to use the right codes every time—which makes for more accurate reporting for you!

Just go to Setup > Configuration > Rate Management > Rate Classification > Rate Codes.  Find a rate that you want to hide from the rate query screen and select Edit.  Once in the rate screen, place a checkmark in the “Negotiated” box (upper right corner) and select Save.  Having that box checked will remove the rate from the Rate Query screen.

Opera Xpress Tip of the Month

Want to take Rate Clean up one step further?  Attach your companies to your negotiated rates—and then make the rate “Negotiated” to hide it from view.  When staff needs to make a reservation for that company, they can enter the dates and company name and will only see the correct negotiated rate on the Rate Query screen—ensuring the correct rates go with the correct company and accurate reporting for you!  CLICK HERE for more detailed information on setting Negotiated Rates up (see pages 6 and 11)!
